Rittal

On May 17th we visited the German company RITTAL in Songdo.

This company is located at a 10-minute walk from "Techno-Park Station". Rittal optimizes and industrializes the entire value chain in the manufacture of control systems and switchgear, from engineering to procurement, manufacturing, machining and service. Rittal offers precisely tailored IT and OT solutions for the generated data required by the production process.

The products offer practical benefits, solve problems, accelerate processes and increase productivity. The Rittal Enclosure System is fast and easy to configure. Modular systems enable to come up with solutions that exactly meet your needs. Smart cooling solutions deliver predictive maintenance and service concepts with an average 75% reduction in energy consumption and high CO2 savings. Innovative rack solutions enable you to deploy new IT infrastructures at unprecedented rates, from individual network racks to the entire data center. In addition, mass-produced items in Germany can now be delivered within 24 hours on the required date (but currently not in Korea)

When we first entered the company, the staff welcomed us and showed us to the meeting room. We were first introduced about representative companies that we know about, such as Haribo, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Fanta, which come to mind when thinking of Germany, and explained that German companies are close to our lives. Later, we were kindly given an overall explanation of Rittal. In 1961, entrepreneur Rudolf Loh founded Rudolf Loh Elektrogerätebau in Rittershausen, with the aim of the company being “enclosures ready for delivery”. The year it was founded, it launched the world's first mass-produced enclosure, and in 1969 the company name was changed to Rittal, in honor of its roots in Rittershausen in Dietzhölztal. In just a few years Rittal enclosures have established themselves as global standards and have maintained their reputation to this day.

Also they showed us a picture of Rittal's headquarters in Herborn in central Hessen, Germany, where more than half of its 9,100 employees work. Outside of Germany 15,000 enclosures are produced per day at eight production sites on three continents. And we were informed that 240,000 cooling units will be produced. We saw pictures of small enclosures and large enclosure systems, we were able to understand how they are made and produced.

After that, we went upstairs and looked around the production site to understand the overall company system. It was the day when we got to know the company Rittal and got a lot of information.
